Summary:Haurongo is a sheep and beef research farm, located on the south-east periphery of the Massey University campus. Ownership of the 67 hectare farm (65 ha effective) was transferred to Massey University in 1987. Currently the management of Haurongo is dominated by grazing replacement ewe hoggets and R1 and R2 Dairy Heifers. The farm is mostly flat with some gullies and the soils are predominantly Tokomaru Silt Loam. Farm objectives:
