Welcome to Massey University's AgServices

Our Mission

'To complement and enhance the generation of agricultural knowledge through quality research, teaching and community service provided within a professional team environment.'

Who we are

Massey University has a strong agricultural heritage in education and research, starting in 1926 as an Agriculture College.

The Agricultural Services Division is the university's operational unit that manages the Massey University Farms and specialized agricultural research units. Massey University has a large landholding with three dairy farms, four sheep and beef farms and one deer farm. The University farms total 2,000 hectares with 12,000 sheep, 1,000 beef cattle, 1,100 dairy cattle and 169 deer.

What we do

Agricultural Services supports the University programme in a wide range of areas from agricultural research, teaching support, facilitating managers and technical input. The division arranges and provides short courses and workshops for National and International Agricultural groups.

Senior members of the team also undertake agricultural consultancies both nationally and internationally while offering foundation courses in pastoral farming.
